Where It Started 

An award-winning, train-themed tabletop game designed by Alan R. Moon, Ticket to Ride was first published in 2004 by Days of Wonder. The original version is played on a board depicting a railway map of the United States and southern Canada, and since its launch, several versions of the game have been released, taking players across the globe by land and sea.  

With dozens of international awards, including the prestigious Spiel des Jahres (2004), the Origins Award for Best Board Game (2004), the As d’Or Jeu de l’année, the International Gamers Award (2005), and many more, Ticket to Ride has proven itself as one of the most iconic modern tabletop games.

Ticket to Ride—Standalone Versions 

The original game of Ticket to Ride is a cross-country train adventure, where players collect cards depicting different types of train cars. These cards let them claim railway routes that connect iconic cities throughout North America.

Other standalone editions take you to Europe, and over land and sea! Ticket to Ride—Europe includes a new map and additional gameplay elements.

In Ticket to Ride — Germany , players will find new rules and challenges, as they attempt to build a network of trains across 19th-century Germany.

Ticket to Ride — Nordic Countries is uniquely designed for 2 to 3 players and brings new elements of strategy and intensity to gameplay.

Ticket to Ride — Rails & Sails features trains and ships and includes two oversized maps — The World and North America’s Great Lakes.

Ticket to Ride—Expansions* 

Ticket to Ride expansions add new maps and challenges, allowing players to journey to even more destinations around the world, and use different ways to get there. 

In Ticket to Ride—Asia (map #1)*, players can either compete as teams, or travel alone, venturing into forbidden eastern lands.

In Ticket to Ride—India / Switzerland (map #2)* explore the colours of India, or Switzerland’s challenging geography, with its verdant valleys and mountain passes.

Set in the African wilderness, Ticket to Ride— The Heart of Africa (map #3)* has players build routes through some of the continent’s most remote and desolate locales.

Set in the Netherlands low-country, Ticket to Ride—Nederland (map #4)* features hundreds of canals and rivers and just as many bridges that cross them.

Master the power of steam, in Ticket to Ride—United Kingdom/Pennsylvania (map #5)*. Build trains, develop technologies, and reach the far cities of Scotland and Ireland before opponents!

Dive into the thriving impressionist culture during the French Industrial Revolution, in Ticket to Ride—France/Old West (map #6)*. Explore France on one side of the map and the Old West on the other. 
Age: 8+ / Players: 2–6 / Duration: 45–60 minutes 

In Ticket to Ride—Poland (map #6.5)*, players must gain a monopoly over Polish public transport, not only by claiming routes between cities, but also by connecting countries with each other.

Ticket to Ride—Japan/Italy (map #7)* is the largest game board in the series and introduces a bullet train network and a new type of ferry route.

Ticket to Ride—Cities 

Perfect for beginners, the standalone Cities (or Express) Ticket to Ride editions pack all the fun of the full-length versions into 15 minutes of low-freight adventure for 2-4 players! ?  

In Ticket to Ride—New York, players race through bustling 1960s New York City, visiting its famed tourist attractions, from the Empire State Building, to Central Park, and Times Square! So, hop into a Yellow Cab, see the sights, complete destination tickets, and enter a New York state of mind! 

Legendary singer Tony Bennett left his heart in the Golden City, but you can leave yours at home and still visit this iconic tourist destination, with Ticket to Ride—San Francisco! In this fast-paced Ticket to Ride game, players race one another to visit the most iconic locations of the city and collect souvenirs along the way. 

Travel back in time to the 17th century, with Ticket to Ride—Amsterdam! In this version, players find themselves in the middle of the Dutch Golden Age! Amsterdam is the wealthiest city on Earth, and the race is on to claim the most lucrative commercial routes, fulfill rewarding trade contracts, and collect precious merchandise from the bustling streets of this legendary city! 

Welcome to the ’70s world capital of fashion and music, with its bell-bottom jeans, and eight-tracks! In Ticket to Ride—London, hop on a famous double-decker bus and see the sights as they race to claim the most important bus lines and complete destination tickets, connecting districts in the UK’s capital! 

Welcome to Berlin, the city of culture, art and music. In Ticket to Ride—Berlin, players hop on a sightseeing cruise on the river Spree, a bike ride through the Brandenburg Gate, or be amazed by the masterpieces displayed in the Pergamon Museum. This edition of Ticket to Ride will be available this fall! 

These are standalone games. No other Ticket to Ride is required to play. 

Ticket to Ride—For Kids 

With a new map and simplified rules, Ticket to Ride — First Journey is the perfect way to introduce younger players (ages 6 and up) to this iconic game of cross-country travel. As in Ticket to Ride, players collect train cards, claim routes, and try to connect cities coast-to-coast. Players of all ages can also venture across Europe, with Ticket to Ride — First Journey (Europe) and explore spooky neighbourhoods in Ticket to Ride — Ghost Train!  

These are standalone games. No other Ticket to Ride is required to play. 

Hot Off the Press! Ticket to Ride Legacy: Legends of the West! 

In Ticket to Ride Legacy: Legends of the West, players embark on twelve thrilling journeys across North America as 19th-century pioneers. The campaign begins on the East Coast, with players working their way to the West from one adventure to the next, meeting challenges along the way. Players will continue to complete tickets as the main objective, with added mechanics like building up a fortune in their vault, unlocking new frontiers and rules, and plenty of new surprises. Legends of the West offers an immersive and narrative experience while remaining easy to learn for new and veteran fans alike. Ticket to Ride Legacy: Legends of the West will be available for purchase in November of 2023. 

This is a standalone game. No other Ticket to Ride is required to play.
